Hahn’s Peak was just a mountain of joy for my friends and I. JJ, Chase and I have covered about half of the single and double track trails throughout those mountains. We use to invite parties of people out there and show everyone a good time. I remember when Chase and I took our twin trucks too the top, a great moment for the both of us. No one knows the true beauty of Routt County till they have seen the sights my eyes have viewed. I cherish every tree, animal, stream, trail and fresh of breath that I experienced out there in the wild.

Hahns Peak has some of the best snowmobiling terrain in the county and is also great for hiking, in the summer my friends and I go off-roading in the area. There are some awesome jeep trails around Hahns Peak and also to the top. On the top there is an old fire look out tower where you can rest. Last summer I took a few trips to the top with some of my friends. The jeep trail only goes to the parking lot that is about 200 yards from the top; you have to walk the rest. The ride’s bumpy but it is worth the view. In the winter you can also get to the top if you are a good enough rider. On snowmobiles you can get to the very top without having to walk. Jeremy and I go riding together all the time and our favorite place to play is the avalanche chute on the back side of the mountain. We have high marking competitions there. You can snowshoe up in the area and we would also jump off the cornices and cliffs doing cartwheels and front flips. We always find new, sometimes dangerous, ways to make the Peak reach new heights.
