The Depot Arts Center
by Tyler

After I played for Stars of Tomorrow and won first place in the high school division, a lady asked me to play for the Youth Art Expo opening reception show on March 28th. I considered this a privilege because I had never been asked to play outside of high school or church events. I asked Daniel and Gregg to play with me and they said yes. Committing to this event was a huge step for me because I had to live up to the standard I had set when I played in Stars of Tomorrow. The three of us practiced for about 15 hours, added an awesome acoustic sound to our whole performance, wrote two new songs, and by the end, we felt we had put together a really good show. I enjoyed doing this for two main reasons. First, I love performing and was so glad to be given the opportunity. The other reason though was even more important. I felt like I was giving back to the community and giving of my time and talent to help a very good cause. I got to do what I love most and it was helping people, I couldn't have asked for anything better.
