This is a picture of the Tread of Pioneers Museum, which is where much of the history of Steamboat is stored and can be observed. This place has a lot of meaning to many people who grew up here. I’ll never forget the time in elementary school when we got the chance to observe the historical elements of this town. The Tread of Pioneers Museum holds such items from the suit of the lighted man, to old guns and pictures from long ago. After taking this trip, you feel a little more modest and have even more respect for this town. When you see how people back then had to survive, you start to feel very thankful and lucky for all of the technology we have today. Without this historic museum, I personally would have to find out a harder way to learn about the history of Steamboat and Routt County.
