Introduction
Winter maintenance/snow removal is some of the most important functions of the City of Steamboat Springs. The staff of the City is dedicated to the task of maintaining 66 miles of streets, 5.5 miles of alleys, 21 parking lots and 104 cul-de-sacs. This responsibility does not include the 5 miles of State Highway going through town.
Winter staff is scheduled to work 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Nights and weekends are covered by a minimal staff whose efforts are concentrated on the main roads. IN the event there is significant snowfall on any weekend day, the entire crew will be called out.
