History of the Organization

Since its inception in 1988, Strings has presented the highest quality chamber music and other classical programming to both local and tourist audiences. During its history, the festival has added jazz, blues, country, world, and various other art forms to its programming in response to community requests. A series of Youth Concerts in the Strings' performing arts tent was begun in 1995, with Touring Youth Concerts into schools added in 1997 and Family Concerts in 1998.
