What began as a community effort to sing Handel's Christmas Messiah has developed into a valley-wide community of singers dedicated to bringing unique choral performances to Routt and Moffat County.

Formed in 1984 to perform at the Madrigal Dinner, this group of twelve select singers specializes in traditional madrigal songs and classical ensemble pieces. The Madrigals perform at various events throughout the community.

SSO Youth Program

The Chamber Ensemble Program organizes students into small groups,
based on their ability level, age, and schedules. The Youth Program is a
collaboration between the Steamboat Springs School District and the
Steamboat Springs Orchestra, and is funded in part by a grant from the
Steamboat Springs Education Fund.

For fifteen years the City of Steamboat Springs has brought top national acts as part of its Free Summer Concert Series. There's no better price or place for a concert in the summertime. Recent artists include: Michael Franti and Spearhead, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Susan Tedeschi, Little Feat, John Hiatt, North Mississippi Allstars, Steel Pulse, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Keb Mo and the String Cheese Incident among others.

We perform dinner concerts at restaurants (Harwigs in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for example)and play educational concerts for schools, clubs, etc.
