How will this recreation center affect Old Town Hot Springs (SSHRA)?

  • The City of Steamboat is working as a community partner with this organization to ensure their future of this long standing, historical amenity.

  • The focus of the recreation center is to build needed amenities that do not duplicate service provided by OTHS or other privately owned recreational facilities.

  • The City of Steamboat Springs will develop an agreement with OTHS with regard to the Fitness Center that will potentially allow only 25% of the needed equipment for the 5000 square foot space in the first year, and be revisited each year until such time that OTHS business is no longer affected by the new Fitness Center. In addition, the plan calls for an abundance of teen related fitness equipment to encourage usage by this age group which is currently not allowed to use the facilities at OTHS.
