In 2001, the City hired Aquatic and Wetland Company to begin field studies designed to document the existing condition of the Yampa River on a 4.5 mile reach through the City. Field work included the following:
- four water quality sampling events at 11 sites
- wetlands mapping
- streambed geomorhpology characterization
- pebble counts
- 3 rounds of macroinvertebrate sampling at 11 sites
- 1,175 recreational user surveys.
The Draft Summary Report describes the extensive data collection program completed from April through September of 2001, the results of a comprehensive recreational user survey, and briefly summarizes findings of the study. Hard copies of the report with all supporting data, figures, and appendices are available at the Bud Werner Memorial Library or through the Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department.
