 Animal Advocates Since 1985 [Click here to view full size picture] The Routt County Humane Society is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, providing humane education, promoting spaying and neutering as a means of decreasing the number of unwanted pets, and encouraging respect for the dignity and worth of all animals.

Call for Volunteers!


Shelter Volunteers - Commit to 2 - 4 hours per week assisting with administrative duties at the Steamboat Springs Animal Shelter. This helps keep the shelter open during late afternoon hours or when staff is on vacation. Training will involve working closely with a current volunteers for several weeks.



Fundraising Volunteers - Help with planning and various details before the fundraisers and on the day or night of the fundraiser.



Newsletter - Help write articles or become editor of our quarterly newsletter. We are also looking for help in maintaining the member database.
