Alpine Horse & Rider

Alpine Horse & Rider is a non profit organization for the equine community. The Club was founded in 1983 by a group of local equestrian enthusiasts. Originally, The Alpine Horse and Rider club was identified as the Alpine Dressage and Combined Training Society. Some years, later the name was changed to Alpine Horse and Rider. The main purpose of the Club is to fulfill a growing need in the Yampa Valley for English riding for adults, juniors and children. Alpine Horse & Rider's goal is to further the education of and improve the performance of riders, judges and other officials of the sport and to promote good horsemanship.
Alpine Horse & Rider encompasses the disciplines of Dressage, Hunter and Eventing. In 2002, it included the disciplines of Trail and Showmanship. Currently there are over 150 members in Northwest Colorado and Wyoming and the Club is fast expanding its reach in the equine community.
Alpine Horse & Rider sponsors 7 horse shows during the summer season, one paper chase trail ride , various clinics and events throughout the year. The horse show series includes dressage and open shows. Encompassing classes in Short Stirrup, Baby Green Rider, Pleasure, Into to Hunter, showmanship, Trail, Hunter and Dressage.
The Club has regular gatherings on the last Thursday of the month featuring guest equine speakers. Visitors and guests are warmly welcome!

Alpine Horse & Rider sponsors two Training Level and one Recoginized Dressage Show during the summer. Classes range from Training Level to Second Level to Test of Choice.

Alpine Horse & Rider sponsors 3 Open Shows in the summer encompassing classes in Short Stirrup, Baby Green Rider, Pleasure, Intro to Hunter and Hunter. Eventing/ Cross Country was added in 2002 for those interested riders.

With more than 150 members in Northwest Colorado and Wyoming, Alpine Horse & Rider is quickly expanding its reach in the equine community. The Club has regular gatherings on the last Thursday of each month featuring guest speakers on a variety of horse related topics.

Alpine Horse & Rider provides a solid foundation for 'future Olympic' riders. Various clinics, events and horse shows encourage our youth to improve and fine tune their skills in riding and horsemanship.
