The theme for the 2005 Steamboat Springs 4th of July Parade was "Steamboat Show Us Your Age." Our first try at twirling book carts earned us First Place for Best Group. Our Drill team was made up of enthusiastic school librarians, public librarians, college librarians, and library employees who let Steamboat Springs know that libraries have been serving our community since 1887. For the parade we named our team the FREADOM Book Cart Drill Team and reminded citizens that living in the USA means living in a country that supports free access to all expressions of ideas and the right to privately explore those very ideas.
