    Services for Children
Service Coordination assists families in finding and accessing services they need. Horizons works with other agencies and the medical community.

Developmental Screenings are provided by our trained staff. Parents and care givers are offered information about child development and will learn ways to stimulate and engage thier child in appropriate activities.

Early Intervention is a play based program for children birth to three years old. Horizons offers professional developmental therapists who help parents encourage motor, language and cognitive development through play. After all, children learn through play!

Family Support Service is a program that offers financial assistance to families who hava a child with special needs. These services and supports are limited and are based upon needs that are prioritized by the family.

    Volunteer Opportunities
Click here to view full size picture You can make a difference in the lives of our clients! As you forget self in service to others, you will find that, without seeking it, your own cup of happiness will be full. Yogananda

There are opportunities to spend time one-on-one with a client and share a special interest you both enjoy such as hiking, bowling, handwork, cooking, art, bicycling, swimming, playing board games, putting puzzles together, attending sports events, and going to parades or other seasonal events. You can participate in organized programs to teach skills to clients like skiing, swimming, boating, and fishing.

If you would enjoy socializing with other volunteers, there are opportunities to assist at the Horizons offices or with special events. We can use help with assembling mailings, answering phones and greeting visitors, and working on the annual silent and live auction. You can help with the maintenance of our group homes (painting, building, gardening and yard maintenance, and moving furniture and equipment).

Contact Bette for information about our many volunteer opportunities.
