Brief Biography:

Berchtold became noticed on the ski slopes in 1995 when she won a gold medal at the World Junior Championships at Mt. Buller, Victoria, Australia. In 1996 she was named “Australian Junior Skier of the Year,” and by 1998, was a member of the Australian World Cup Team. Berchtold has been the Australian Freestyle Skiing Champion since 2000, has represented Australia at three World Championships (2001, 2003, and 2005) and competed at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Berchtold also founded a non-profit scholarship program, the “Future Olympian Scholarship Program,” that raises money to help young athletes from the Cooma and Snowy Mountain regions in Australia to achieve their athletic goals. Berchtold was featured on the cover of the 2006/2007 Cooma White Pages and Yellow Pages directory honoring “Aussie Sporting Heroes.”
