Brief Biography:
Thrasher moved to Steamboat in 1972 with his parents. He attended Steamboat High School and lettered in both football and track. In 1989 he finished first in the Rocky Mountain super G standings and won the FIS super G and downhill races the following year. Thrasher, a member of the U.S. Skiing’s speed team for nine years, finished 31st at the Olympics in Lillehammer in 1994. In 1995, Thrasher was second at the U.S. National Championships in Utah. He had 19 top-50 World Cup finishes during his career.

After 11 major knee surgeries, he decided to retire from competition in 1997. Thrasher has been married to his wife Cathryn since 1997 and has three children. He currently is the Lodge Manager at Storm Mountain Ranch in Steamboat.
