Brief Biography:
Grosjean moved to Steamboat when he was one, started skiing at the age of two, and began racing at eight. He competed in eight Junior Olympics from 1979-1986, winning the overall championship in 1984 and never finished lower than fifth overall. In the 1980’s he attended Vermont’s Burke Mountain Academy, one of three ski racing schools in the country.

Grosjean thought about quitting after the 1996 World Cup but decided to return to competition and came back even more committed, which produced the best results of his international career, including his first top-5 finish. Grosjean says, "To me, the whole thing about competing in a sport, whether it is ski racing or track and field, is the journey. My ski racing career is just one way to for me to figure out who Matt Grosjean is--what my weaknesses are, what my strengths are."

Grosjean lives in California and has two children.
