Brief Biography:
Jere grew up in Steamboat Springs where his father was a banker at Routt County National Bank and his mother worked for the Yampa Valley Electric Company. Jere was a sports enthusiast from the time he was very young. He played quarterback on the Sailors football team and won 5th place in state for pole vaulting. He was a swimmer, tennis player, hunter and golfer, and played the trombone in the famous Steamboat marching band on skis, but skiing was his favorite sport. He was racing by the time he was four years old. Jere spent most of his time jumping until high school when he began competing in downhill and giant slalom.

He skied on the Junior Nationals Team 1960-1964 and on the US National Ski Team 1965-1969. He competed in the FIS World Championships in 1966 at Portillo, Chile and was on the 1968 Olympic Team.

Jere went to the University of Colorado-Boulder and followed in his father’s footsteps to become a banker. He worked for National Bank of Alaska in Anchorage and was President of the United Bank in LaSalle, and Norwest Bank in Colorado Springs and Broomfield. Jere currently works for the Association of Christian Schools International as Vice President of Finance.

Jere has been married to his wife Mary Lou for 32 years and they have 4 grown children. Steamboat Springs continues to be a favorite place to vacation for Jere and his family.
