Toponas Community Club Building
The Toponas Community Club (TCC) Building is in need of maintenance and repainting. Listed on the Routt County Historic Register, the facility was built in 1921 and moved to its current site in the 1940s. In partnership with members of the TCC, HRC! plans to organize raise funds and organize the work to repair and repaint of the building exterior envelope: repair the roof; repair, replace as necessary, and repaint the exterior doors and windows; make the windows operable again, add weather-stripping where needed and meet ADA standards. While a recent Historic Structure Assessment recommended additional treatments and costs, TCC members and HRC! agreed to start this preservation project modestly, one step at a time, and do more work in the future as funds are available. We also will install an interpretive sign by the building entrance that gives the history of the Toponas Community Club and the surrounding area.
