History for the Telephone Building Edward Bell made plans for a telephone building that was built on his property on Moffat Avenue. The contractor was Julius Barnett, who started construction on the building on Monday, August 17, 1925. On October 1, 1925 the building was opened. The Telephone Building closed in the early 1960s along with the law office connected to it. Soon the building became apartments owned by “Ma” Billings. The building was sold in the mid 1960s and resold two or three more times after that. The building right now houses mini storage and Lift Up Of Routt County.
