The Omholt Grave Site two is located at the original Omholt cabin. It is the grave of the first born child of Ole and Alma Omholt. Little is known of this child. He died in 1915 or 1916, this information is given in the family story printed in the first edition of the History of Hayden & West Routt County 1876 - 1889. This family story (F247) is on page #254 and states: "My mother lost her first baby, a boy, through hardships. She really never got over it." According to Bob Kagie, the first born child was buried under the corner of the cabin. This grave is not marked. Alma Thresa Johnson was born in Sweden Oct. 7, 1878 (1880). Ole Andreas Omholt was born in Norway, Oct. 19, 1880. They were married in 1907 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They moved to Colorado in 1910, with Alma's brother Otto Johnson and homesteaded adjoining property in the Dunkley area. Alma died in 1939 and is buried on the hill over looking the cabin (Omholt Grave Site one). Ole Omholt is buried in the Hayden Cemetery with a large stone that has a sailing ship on it.
Ole Omholt homesteaded 160 acres in 1918. He received a patent in 1940. Ole sold to Wilma Clark in 1950 and she sold the land to Bob Kagie in 1959. The land is currently owned by the Cross Mountain Ranch.
