Larry Chamberlain was born December 2, 1937 in Ainsworth, Nebraska to Cecil and Nelda Chamberlain. Cecil was an agent for the Chicago & Northwestern RR so the family moved around alot. Nelda was a school teacher. A daughter, Janice Reddick now lives in Grand Junction. Larry graduated from high school in 1956 in Sturgis, South Dakota. After high school Larry enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and became an Air Traffic Controller and also attended pilot training. He left the Air Force in 1968 as a 1st Lieutenant. In 1965 he married Josephine Ames in Anchorage, Alaska. Three children were born, Crystal, 1968, Layne, 1970 and Lonny, 1971. Larry began his career in law enforcement in 1969 with the Aurora Police Department. He first attended the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy and then Metropolitan State College and received his Associates degree in Psychology & Sociology in 1972. He later received a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement in 1974. The family moved to Steamboat Springs in May 1977 when Larry went to work as a deputy for the Routt County Sheriff's Office. When Sheriff Deluca resigned in January 1982 Larry Chamberlain was appointed to complete his term of office. At the end of 1982 the family moved to Denver and Larry was employed as an Investigator for Adolph Coors Co. In July 1988 he went to work for the U. S. Marshall Service as a Federal Court Security Officer. In 1987 he was divorced and in 1991 married Jayne Johnson, a U.S. District Deputy Clerk. She has three children, Michelle, 12, Adrienne, 9 and Christopher 7. The family currently resides in Arvada, Colorado.
