The "Green Machine" was dedicated in 2007 as a large event recycling unit. Yampa Valley Recycles provided the funding to create this container that is easily transportable to various locations throughout the Yampa Valley. Waste Management provides the servicing and transport of this container.

The following items can be recycled in this container: aluminum/tin/steel cans, #1 & #2 plastics, newspaper, office paper/junk mail, paperboard, cardboard and glass.

Currently, the "Green Machine" is available for satellite recycling on the following schedule:
1st full week of the month (Monday to Monday)
Steamboat Springs-Alpine Bank parking lot

2nd full week of the month
Yampa- Ladies Aid Hall on 83 East First St

3rd full week of the month
Steamboat Springs- Safeway Parking lot

4th full week of the month
Oak Creek- alley behind the Colorado Bar
