Community Plan Update>6. How to Get Involved

How to Get Involved
There are three principal ways that citizens can become involved in the Steamboat Springs Area Community Plan update process:

Join a Working Group
The Working Groups that were established during the November 9th and 10th Kick-Off meeting will play an integral part in the planning process. The Work Groups are composed of interested community members, Planning Commission members, City Council members, County Board of Commissioners, and County and City Staff. The working groups will meet with the consultants and staff a minimum of three to four times between April and Sept. 2002 to advise them on the Issue Papers and Draft Plans and Policies. Meetings will be scheduled at times that best accommodate the working groups. If you would like to join a Working Group, call Tom Leeson at (970) 879-2060.

Attend Community Meetings will be held a minimum of four times between April and Sept. 2002 in order to gain community input on the Issue Papers and Draft Plans, and Policies. Community input is vital to a successful planning process so attendance by the public at these meetings is strongly encouraged. Meeting times and locations will be announced well in advance.
