SST Annual Passenger Counts

Steamboat Springs Transit (SST) reconfigured its routes for Winter 97-98 to provide more direct service to the west side of town and to housing on US 40 on the eastside. Passenger counts jumped dramatically as a result. Lack of qualified drivers during Winter 2000-01 and Winter 2001-02 caused SST to reduce basic service intervals to every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes. Even though extra buses during the peak hours minimized problems, the longer service interval reduced passenger counts. Winter 2002-03 service intervals are back to every 20 minutes and passenger counts are on the rise again.

Note that the "lodge shuttles" category on this chart represents only the Storm Meadows service provided by SST. Storm Meadows property management associations pay for this service. These counts do not include the many private lodge shuttles in our community.
