Although a bit further than DIA, the Colorado Springs Airport is sometimes used to access air transportation to Routt County. Depending on the weather, it's about a 4 1/2 drive. Owned and operated by the City of Colorado Springs, the modern facility opened in October 1994 and is a fast-growing gateway to Colorado. It is located 20 minutes east of Downtown Colorado Springs at 7770 Drennan Road. The Airport owns 7,135 acres with multiple sites available for lease and development, including runway access.
