While known in the summer more for its vibrant mountain-biking community, the running scene is gradually growing in the Yampa Valley. With the Steamboat Springs Running Series leading the way by having races such as the Steamboat Marathon and the US Trail Championships. It doesn't hurt having the hundreds of miles of trails to explore, allowing you to get out in a different area of the Valley on each excursion at your own pace.
