Our Mission  

The mission of the Community Alliance is to help preserve the natural environment of the Yampa Valley, enhance the quality of human life, retain the unique character of our community and to build a sustainable society in harmony with nature.

We serve as a catalyst to empower individuals through collective action to address economic and social trends that endanger the quality of life and the natural environment in the Yampa Valley.

The Community Alliance has nearly 200 local members.  Our efforts are divided by committee.  Currently our Oil and Gas Committee is working to ensure that the impacts from any new extraction activities will be mitigated to the greatest extent possible.  Our concerns include contamination of drinking water, contamination of watersheds, air quality, and protecting our existing amenities based economy.  Our Renewables Committee continues to work with Home ReSource a viable materials reclamation and reuse center in Milner.
