Something wonderful about my family is that we eat dinner together almost every night. My mom is the main cook and she always makes huge, healthy meals. This is something I look forward to, especially coming home from a hard day of track practice. On occasion my dad will also cook. This is always a treat because he makes huge, gourmet meals that are so good. Having dinner with my family almost every night of the week is probably one of the main reasons why I have such a close relationship with my parents. This is the time when we will discuss how my day went or any other issue that comes up. In Routt County, the divorce rate is very high. Therefore, I feel so fortunate to have a family to sit down with and have dinner together. This time has helped me realize that when I have a family, dinnertime will be important family time. There is nothing magical about this time, but it is something I will remember about my childhood and youth for the rest of my life.
