Blue Ribbon Committee

The charge of the Citizens' Blue Ribbon Committee is to examine the current and future needs of the Bud Werner Memorial Library in terms of services, collections and staffing and to develop a recommended facilities plan for meeting those needs.

The goals of the Committee and the Library Board are to ensure that taxpayer's money is spent judiciously, that our residents receive the library service that they deserve and desire, and that the library grow to become a place that is not only a source of pride, but also an invaluable resource and asset for the community.

1. Validate the need for additional library space including:

  • current and future space needs
  • other potential impacts on library space needs (e.g. technology)
  • scope of facility: size? new building?

2. Other community uses ~ what are the broader needs of the community that need to be addressed?

3. Create report for the Board of Trustees on needs

4. Future Goals and Objectives:

  • Site Planning
  • Facilities Planning
  • Architectural Planning

5. Funding recommendations:

  • Private fundraising
  • Bond issue
