In April of 2006, after receiving a community literacy grant from Wal-Mart, the librarians brainstormed and decided to use the theme "Transporation" for the children's section. Paula Lash worked for a week at the library and did many of the designs and construction of the hot air balloon and other colorful additions to the section. The new area is colorful, full of things to do, and now had a real nice feel to it. Children of all ages are encouraged to stop by and see the Children's Reading Room @ the Hayden Library.
