-7/13 and 7/29 - Open House at the Historic Mesa School: Tuesday, July 13 from 3:00-5:00pm and Thursday, July 29, 2:00-4:00pm, FREE.
Step back in time! Tour the historic Mesa Schoolhouse and experience student and teacher life at the turn-of-the-century. Learn about historic toys and recess games, Routt County school history, and much more. Kids can play with replica historic toys. FREE fun for the whole family. We will offer two open houses in July and August as well. Sponsored by the Tread of Pioneers Museum, Historic Routt County and the City of Steamboat Springs.
 
-8/3 - Family Scavenger Hunt of Downtown's Historic Buildings: Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 5:30-7:00pm, FREE.
Stop by the museum anytime between 5:00-6:00pm to pick up your scavenger hunt. Read the clues, find the answers and return to the museum before 7:00pm to claim your free prizes!
 
-8/10 - Open House at the Crawford Home: Tuesday, Aug. 10 from 4:00-6:00pm, FREE.
Step back in time and tour the historic Crawford home. Built in 1894, the stately stone landmark at 1184 Crawford Avenue was the home of Steamboat's founding family, the Crawfords. Now restored to its original condition and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Crawford family and the Tread of Pioneers Museum would like to offer you personal tours of this magnificent home. Tours will begin on the half hour starting at 4:00pm- last tour leaves at 5:30pm. Call 879-2214 for more information.

 ~7/4 - Pioneer Day Block Party: July 4, 11:00am-1:00pm, FREE.
After the 4th of July parade down Lincoln Ave., come to the Museum and enjoy a free community concert, kids pioneer games, refreshments, our famous Routt Beer Floats, and free admission to the Museum. A favorite 4th of July tradition.

v Olympic Heritage Walking Tour: Every Tuesday from June 29-Aug. 31, 9:00-10:30am, FREE.
       Starts at Olympian Hall at Howelsen Hill, 845 Howelsen Parkway. This easy walking tour explores Steamboat’s Olympic heritage, the multiple talents of Carl Howelsen, and the history of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, Winter Carnival, Howelsen Hill, and ski jumping. Once at Howelsen Hill, participants will witness the daring feats of ski jumpers soaring through the air during practice. Sponsored by the Tread of Pioneers Museum and Historic Routt County! All tour participants will receive a coupon for $1 off admission to the Tread of Pioneers Museum and a FREE ticket for the Howelsen Hill chairlift.
 
Mineral Springs Walking Tour: Every Wednesday from June 30-Sept. 1, 9:00-10:30am, FREE.
Starts at the Eleanor Bliss Center for the Arts at the Depot on 13th St. When the early settlers lost their livestock they would look around this mineral spring first because the animals LOVED the salty waters.  Join a Yampatika naturalist on this easy walking tour to find out which spring, and also learn how the Steamboat Spring was named as well as many more fun mineral spring facts. All tour participants will receive a coupon for $1 off admission to the Tread of Pioneers Museum.
 
v Downtown Historic Walking Tour: Every Thursday from July 1-Sept. 2, 9:00-10:30am, FREE. 
       Starts at the Tread of Pioneers Museum, 800 Oak St. This easy walking tour highlights the historic buildings and architecture of downtown Steamboat Springs, town development, and the early settlers. Participants walk past and discuss many historic buildings including the Old Town Pub, the Pioneer Building, Pilot Building, and more. Sponsored by the Tread of Pioneers Museum and Historic Routt County! All tour participants will receive a coupon for $1 off admission to the Tread of Pioneers Museum.
 
v Brown Bag Lecture Series: Every Friday from July 2-Sept. 3, Noon-1:00pm, FREE.
       Come to the Tread of Pioneers Museum and discover the history of Steamboat Springs through the locals who lived it. Each one-hour program features a lecture topic that reveals the unique history of our area. Exciting topics have included the extinct mining town of Mount Harris, local outlaw stories, agricultural history and local family histories. Bring a friend and bring a lunch! Brought to you by the Tread of Pioneers Museum.
