Over 5000 historic photographs are available for reprint and sale through the Tread of Pioneers Museum (locacted at 8th & Oak Streets in Steamboat Springs, 970-879-2214). Please call for an appointment.
All images are printed with high quality inks on photo paper.

Due to the wide variety of sizes of our originals, we cannot guarantee that all prints will be standard paper size.

**Plus any additional usage fees; all CDs must be returned after use and all electronic files must be deleted from all user’s computers/files after use for approved one-time use project.

Discounts: 1. Non-profit organizations and projects are eligible for a 50% discount on usage fees only- not print fees.
2. The above usage fees will be discounted if the museum receives promotional value or merchandise in return for the use of the photographic images. The amount of the discount will depend on the amount of promotional value or merchandise received. For marketing trades in exchange for use of museum images, the museum will receive a minimum of $200 worth of marketing value per image used by the customer. 3. Customers ordering more than 10 images at a time may be eligible for a 50% discount on usage fees only- not print fees.
 
Please read before signing contract:
Prepayment in full is required for all photograph orders. All responsibility regarding question of copyright or invasion of privacy that might arise in the use of material that has been reproduced by the museum must be assumed by the user. By signing this agreement, you agree to use the photograph only once for one project and a one-year time period. Any subsequent use of an image requires the written permission of the museum and the payment of additional fees. The museum gives no exclusive rights for the use of its material. Resale of these photos is not permitted unless specially arranged. Proper credit must be given to the photographer, when known and all publications of pictures should contain the caption “…provided courtesy Tread of Pioneers Museum, Steamboat Springs, CO.” Depending on the usage of a particular photograph, certain additional fees will apply, as stated above. The museum reserves the right to charge other fees on projects that do not fit into the above parameters. See page 3 for other terms and conditions.

The Photos below are the property of the Tread of Pioneer Museum, they can not be reproduced or used on the web without prior permission to do so. The images at the museum are much better quality than pictured below, this poor quality was used to prevent theft.

 

   

In 1913 Carl Howelsen came to Steamboat Springs and showed locals ski jumping was an exciting new sport. The Flying Norseman, as he was called, built a jump and hurled himself, skis and all, more than 100 feet off the jump. Howelsen Hill in downtown Steamboat Springs maintains the 30, 50-, 70-, and 90-meter jumps used by Steamboat's future Olympians as a training site. Howelsen also organized the first Winter Carnival in 1914 as a way of introducing competitive skiing and a celebration of winter. Actual quality of photo at the Museum is much better than that pictured above. Original Barnum and Bailey posters for sale at the museum in 18x24, 24x32 and 30x40 sizes.
