Light Grave Site

We have little information on this site. Our first record is the Record of Funeral, dated September 18, 1927. It is for Carrie H. Light, born in Roanoke, Virginia. She died September 16, 1927 at her ranch near Clark, Colorado. She died of cancer of the liver. It states that she was born November 4, 1850, aged 76 years, 10 months and 12 days. There was no known information on her parents listed. Funeral services were held at the ranch and she was buried near her home, on the ranch. The funeral order was given by Ben Price, her son.

From research done by Kathy Main we find that Carrie Light homesteaded 320 acres in section 34 in 1923. She was granted a patent from the United States in April 1925. Apparently her home and out buildings were actually located just on the other side of her property line on her sons land (Ben Price).

Land records show that the land is currently owned by Dean & Laura Chew.
