Historic Routt County! (HRC!) works with property owners to document and preserve their historic ranches and rural properties through cultural resource surveys, architectural drawings and site plans. HRC! also provides information about preservation treatment incentives, nomination assistance, and technical support for projects.

 

 

 


Cultural Resource Surveys

The Cultural Resource Surveys work in partnership with the University of Colorado at Denver Graduate School of Architecture to document and survey historic Routt County ranches. Over 80 Routt County Ranches have been recorded to date. Copies of the survey are given to the property owner and sent to the State of Colorado Office of Archeology and Historic Preservation; the University of Colorado-Denver and are on file at Historic Routt County.


Historic American Building Survey

Historic American Building Survey (HABS) drawings are continuing a national program begun during the 1930's in partnership with University of Colorado at Denver. These are technical drawings and site plans on historic Routt County ranches. Over 12 ranches have been completed to date. Copies of the HABS drawings are given to the property owner, University of Colorado-Denver, Historic Routt County and upon review will be at the Library of Congress.
