Unlimited Career Potential
Our built environment - and the construction trades - will need skilled professionals with knowledge of the principles and practices of historic preservation, an understanding of how historic buildings are constructed and how historic buildings can contribute to the reduction of our carbon footprint. Not only will you have a world full of job options, but you’ll also have the ability to work in a sustainable construction field. The skills you acquire in our program will allow you entry to a variety of careers. Preservationists are needed both to contract the services of qualified craftsmen or to be those skilled individuals available for work on restoration projects. Trained preservationists are also employed by the government, heritage tourist sites, and educational institutions. Other paths you may pursue include research, architectural design and consulting and specialized building contracting. You can volunteer your time as an advocate or advisor for restoring and maintaining these properties with your newly acquired expert knowledge.
Come learn why historic preservation will be at the center of the green arena, and why communities everywhere are becoming more and
more interested in preserving historic places.
