The "Green Machine" was dedicated in 2007 as a large event recycling unit. Yampa Valley Recycles provided the funding to create this container that is easily transportable to various locations throughout the Yampa Valley. Waste Management provides the transport of this container.   Funding to service the Green Machine is provided by Routt County and Pinnacle Construction.

The following items can be recycled in this container: aluminum/tin/steel cans, #1 through # 7 plastics , newspaper, office paper/junk mail, paperboard (e.g, pizza, noodle, snack boxes), and glass. 

NO motor/pesticide containers, plastic bags/wrap, waxy juice containers, styrofoam or corrugated cardboard is acceptable.

These units are for residential use only.  NO COMMERCIAL USE PLEASE!

The Green Machine is available for FREE recycling on the following schedule:

• Steamboat Springs: Monday-Friday 8AM-4PM at Waste Management
• Steamboat Springs: Friday 4PM thru Sunday at Alpine Bank and Safeway
• Yampa: 2nd full week of the month at Ladies Aid Hall on 83 East First St.
• Oak Creek: 4th full week of the month in the alley behind the Colorado Bar

  Please do not put plastic bags in the Green Machine (dump the contents out).
