West African Dance, Drum & Culture Festival with Pan Africa

Summer 2008 marked Steamboat Springs' first-ever West African dance and drum festival! Thanks to the support of Strings Music Festival and Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp, the Steamboat African Dance & Drum Ensemble was able to share 11 of our very favorite West African master dance and drum teachers with our community all at once. Pan Africa is a performance group comprised of professional dancers and drummers from Guinea, Ghana, Mali and Togo. Together they taught all-level dance and drum classes, held kids' workshops and put on a sold-out performance at Strings.
