Name Change As of July 1, 2002, we’ve had a name change. In a nationwide change, all conservation districts dropped the word “soil” from their names. This change reflects the broad scope of issues the districts address, including water quality and supply, weed control, land development and recreation pressures, protection and restoration of wetlands and riparian areas, and education. After the snow melts, look for new, green and white highway signs with the conservation logo and new District name.
