Howelsen Hill Top

The mountain you see is called Howelsen Hill. Howelsen Hill has a slide that you can go down in the summer time. The mountain is a ski and snowboard mountain. People love to ski and snowboard around here. There is a poma lift you have to ride if it's not the weekend. The poma lift is hard to see, but it's there. I see a road that comes up to my house. I see trees. I feel cold because the wind is getting colder because it's close to winter time. I love the Steamboat Springs mountains. Katy
Creek Creek Top

The sunshine is peeking in to light up the picture. The water is quietly running right past the bridge. A ton of trees are blocking the rest of the creek. There is a little amount of rocks, but they pop out a lot. The leaves fall lightly, but there are a lot. I hope it doesn’t change. Brad
My Yampa River Top

You are the most beautiful river I’ve ever seen. Water running smoothly in that breezy weather. But that snow is taking its time. Trees are everywhere and they aren’t colorful. They don’t have a leaf on them. If you don’t call snow cold, I don’t know what you call cold because one flake touched me and it was COLD!!!!!! I hope you never change!!!!!! Hannah
School Time Top

Yaaaa, it is almost time for school! A car dropping off a daughter/son at school is right ahead. I better hurry or I will be late. Finally, I get through all the people. The ground covered in snow, wind blowing at me like a bullet. I am so happy I’m probably going to learn something today. School is so cool!!!! Hannah
Lovely View Top
Lovely View [Click here to view full size picture]
If you look out my living room window this is what you will see. You’ll see the ski mountain. Also small oak trees, medium aspen trees, and one large pine tree. In the background, what you might think is small, but is actually really big, is my field that I sled in every year. Right in front is a little opening that I also sled onto when I sled off the hill next to it. I love my living room and every other room in my house because I’ve lived in it since I was four. That’s a coincidence because I’ve lived in it since I was four, and it gets four feet of snow. I love my view. Christian
Mt. Werner Top
Mt. Werner [Click here to view full size picture]
Mt.Werner shimmered in a beautiful sunset as the earth got ready to tuck it’s self in for the night. Mt.Werner is my favorite mountain. I love to ski on it . Voodoo is my favorite run. I love to go on steep runs. It is great for hiking. Day after day Mt. Werner sits right by Steamboat. I think Mt. Werner is the most beautiful mountain there ever was.

In the winter the mountain is blanketed by a layer of fluffy white snow. When the summer comes, the mountain is dark green because of all the huge trees. I am so glad I live by my most favorite mountain ever. Sam
My Yard Top
My Yard [Click here to view full size picture]
Have you seen my yard? Well if you haven’t, I will tell you about it. It is very big and you can do almost anything in it. I really like my yard because in the summer all the trees are so green, and in the winter the ground is snowy white. I always like to play in it. Also because I have a trampoline, swing set, water feature and a lot of fun outdoor games. Sutter
The Pool Top
The Pool [Click here to view full size picture]
Splash! One of my favorite places in Steamboat is the pool. When I go, before I get in, moist air surrounds me. The pool steams a lot. I step into the warm water and begin to play. I can smell that wonderful smell of the pool. People are yelling to other people. The water is steaming hot. A little snow is all around the pool. I love to go and spend time with my family there. There are three pools, three hot tubs, and one water slide. My favorite pool is the cold pool. I love going to the pool and I hope you do too. Mercedes

Mt.Werner is the best place to go skiing or snow boarding. You can hike on it in the summer too. Picnics are fun also. When you get up there is a big, green field to eat in. The sun is always shining for a bright and cheery picnic. Up by the mountain is where you find most of the hotels. Skiing is a blast up there. I hike more than I ski. When you hike or ski there’s a wonderful view of Steamboat. The Mountain is a wonderful place to go. Mercedes
Yampa River Top
Yampa River [Click here to view full size picture]
The Yampa River is one of the rivers that go through Steamboat. This picture is the river over by the rodeo grounds. In the background, Mt.Werner is glowing like the sun. Rocks and trees surround the river. Bits of ice float down and vanish as they go around the corner. I love tubing and swimming in this river. I wish it was still summer so I could go swimming again. The Yampa River is a great river. Mercedes
